If your return was rejected, please continue reading this article before proceeding with resubmitting your return. There are several reasons for rejected returns. To resolve your rejected return you must resubmit your return to the IRS. If you originally filed with MyFreeTaxReturn.com, you may resubmit your filing for no additional charge.

IRS reject code IND-031 means your Prior Year AGI or IP PIN doesn't match IRS records. Fix by going to the eSignature page and updating the Prior Year AGI or IP PIN. If the correct amount keeps getting rejected, try entering $0 for Prior Year AGI and leaving the PIN blank.

This means that the IRS records indicate that a return has already been created and submitted with that SSN for the same tax year. If the information is correct and you do not believe a tax return was filed elsewhere, the return will need to be paper filed and we suggest contacting the IRS.
